Presentation of the Sport Centre for Triathletes in Solothurn

On Friday December 8th the Performance Centre for Triathlon and Duathlon will be presented in a press conference in Solothurn with the presence of the two most decorated Swiss triathletes of the last decade: Daniela Ryf and Nicola Spirig. The press conference will be held in the sport centre Zuchwil starting from 10:30 am. The goal of this initiative is to increase  the training offer for clubs and young athletes thanks to the Triathlon and Duathlon Performance Center in Solothurn. The Spirit Academy and Swiss Triathlon joined forces to create a regional performance center.

The mission of the Triathlon Performance Centre Solothurn is to nurture talented junior triathletes and athletes and prepare them for a career as professional competitive athletes. In addition to the parents, the sports schools, the training companies, the triathlon clubs and the association, the Performance Centre creates optimal conditions for these young athletes. Furthermore, the Performance Centre also provides training and training support for high-performance elite triathletes and athletes from the region. Every year more than 10 young people use the offer aimed at elite athletes. Thanks to 420 guided trainings per season, four athletes in the program have made the leap into the elite national squad (Triathlon, Duathlon) of Swiss Triathlon in recent years.

The Spirit Academy is part of the Spirit Multisport brand, which provides training for coaches, collaboration with schools and training centers for triathlon, and company projects. The Spirit Academy provides services for training centers and clubs in the areas of training control, marketing and communication. It is under construction. Sponsors and partnerships will be set up in the coming months. The networking of the clubs through joint trainings, a more professional web presence or the link in the social media is further strengthened by the partnership. The club members benefit from the network and the coaching know-how of the Spirit Academy.

Switzerland is a triathlon nation. This is proven by the successes of numerous competitive athletes in international competitions. Through a stronger connection of activities and professionalization, Switzerland's strong position in multi-sport will be improved and expanded in the long term. Triathlon is a complex sport with three disciplines. Young athletes need a good training infrastructure. The clubs are required to provide the necessary care, support and infrastructure at attractive financial terms. The Triathlon and Duathlon Performance Center Solothurn has established itself in recent years. It is recognized as a regional junior center of excellence by Swiss Triathlon, the Swiss triathlon federation. The Spirit Academy sees itself as an incubator of the Swiss Triathlon. It promotes triathlon sports and supports the establishment and promotion of centers of excellence in Switzerland. Thanks to the personal commitment of today's top athletes such as Nicola Spirig or Daniela Ryf, the athlete base will be broadened and awareness of the sport and performance centers increased. The Performance Centre and Spirit Academy will join forces with Swiss Triathlon to expand their existing offer. The forces are bundled in a targeted manner and the strengths of Switzerland - such as established associations, geographical proximity, past successes and existing know-how - will support the initiative. The aim of the joint commitment is also to connect the existing infrastructure even better and to help ensure that school and sport can be optimally coordinated. Teachers and parents are specifically supported.
